Northeast Side Hotlum/Bolam Ridge

Shasta's northeast side is a vast and scenic high alpine wilderness. The climbing route follows long snowfields between the Hotlum and Bolam glaciers, crossing crevasses along the way. The north side is slightly more challenging than the south and west sides of Shasta. Climbers should be in good condition and comfortable with steep and icy terrain. This route is best later in the season, from June through early September.

Dates:
June 25-27
July 16-18, 23-25, 30-August 1
August 6-8, 20-22
September 4-6
Or by special arrangement
Fee: $595

Jason and Kevin, Mark and I

Jason and Kevin, Mark and I joined you both for the July 24th to July 26th North face Hotlum / Bolam Glacier Route climb. We wanted to take the time to say "thank you!" for your guidance, mountaineering expertise, motivation and of course culinary skills :) Although there was a "bit" of PURE ice and lack of foothold during the journey, we truly had an incredible experience sitting on top of the world (and glasleding(???) down)! Kevin, have a great wedding and congratulations. Jason, enjoy your next adventure and good luck with your painting business! We only hope to get the opportunity to have guides like yall on our next climbing experience... Thanks, Kingsley Carson and Mark Rooney

Spencer, The 7/31-8/2

Spencer,

The 7/31-8/2 summit climb is on and we have 4 spaces available still.  If you are equally intrested in skills training as well as a summit climb, I would suggest our Glacier Seminars, we have a Glacier I on 7/23-26 and 8/6-9.  Please let us know if you have any other questions at all.  We hope you can join us on the north side!  -Chris

NE side Hotlum/Bolam

NE side Hotlum/Bolam Ridge Interested in details of this trip looking to possibly do the Aug 7th-9th trip with a friend so there would 2 of us total we have basic mountaineering experience and looking to learn glacier/crevasse travel and more challenging route on shasta, have done AG route.

Brian, The NE

Brian,

The NE Hotlum-Bolam route is a great climb if you have climbed AG in the past.  The 3 day summit climb does not have time to get into great detail on the skills required for glacier travel.  I would suggest our Glacier I or II seminar for more complete skills training as well as a summit climb.  We hope you can join us on the north side!  -Chris

Question: Is the July

Question: Is the July 31-Aug 2 trip going? I may be interested. Actually, I am more interested in an expedition skills / Crevasse course during that time frame. I would appreciate hearing from you and what you all have planned. thanks! spencer
