Shasta's northeast side is a vast and scenic high alpine wilderness. The climbing route follows long snowfields between the Hotlum and Bolam glaciers, crossing crevasses along the way. The north side is slightly more challenging than the south and west sides of Shasta. Climbers should be in good condition and comfortable with steep and icy terrain. This route is best later in the season, from June through early September.

Spencer, The 7/31-8/2
Spencer,
The 7/31-8/2 summit climb is on and we have 4 spaces available still. If you are equally intrested in skills training as well as a summit climb, I would suggest our Glacier Seminars, we have a Glacier I on 7/23-26 and 8/6-9. Please let us know if you have any other questions at all. We hope you can join us on the north side! -Chris

Brian,
The NE Hotlum-Bolam route is a great climb if you have climbed AG in the past. The 3 day summit climb does not have time to get into great detail on the skills required for glacier travel. I would suggest our Glacier I or II seminar for more complete skills training as well as a summit climb. We hope you can join us on the north side! -Chris
